I don't know much about Nissans, or carbed motors, but somebody on here should be able to help.\ or try searching for a nissan truck forum for free manuals in PDF format.

Does it run good for a minute & then die?, or does it run like crap for a minute then die?

Try looking around the engine bay for any sensors that may have come unplugged..

Also check the voltage at the fuel pump.
I had to re-do the wiring one of my cars to make sure I was getting 12volts at the pump.
The plug was all corroded.

ok first we'll need to know the year of that truck because most of the z24 motors were TBI fuel injected, i know that thing looks like a carburator but it might not be. each system is a different ball of wax, carb: start the truck up try to hold the throttle open by hand under the hood and spray carb cleaner into the carb small sprays at a time. if it stalls its something else, if it keeps running there is a fuel delvery problem, check for water under the distributor cap, both engines, the carb engine will be eazy to fix, the TBI motor: could have some dirt on the MAF sensor located inside of the thorttle body this is where i would start looking to restart a truck that went swiming, good luck
