If you don't want it, shut it off via whatever tuner sw is available for your car, it's good for the general public imo

Not that I spend a ton of time in cars with SCS, but every one I've tried to turn off never really shuts all the way off. Always some kind of intrusion. It's the idea that's bothersome. Making it mandatory? Fuck, less government please.

You don't like the sliding into the back of a car while your brake pedal plays the theme song from Jaws?

I hate it in my explorer. Especially on ice and the power cuts off for a split second.

was pretty damn sketchy towing with my fathers suv when the trailer slipped and the stability control took over, trailer almost came around and hit us. As long as you can turn it off i dont really see a problem with it though.

Other problems i see is the fact that we may not be able to get newly designed cars because it may not have stability control or the stabilty control may not be "good" enough when/if more standards are placed on it.

i would think they would have mandatory airbags before mandatory stability control.

i encourage the use of this technology through choice, never force.

people should pick it because its freaking great, my pathfinder's traction control kicks on all the time, and you can turn it off if your feeling "assholish".

I don't know about feeling assholish, but if you've ever been stuck you know that stability control is a huge hindrance. I can't make it up the hill next to my parents' house without turning it off in my girlfriend's car.
